Despite Rohit Sharma’s 68 off 38 and Naman Dhir’s rearguard 62 runs respectively, Mumbai Indians lost by 18 runs to finish bottom of their 10-team table for the first time ever in their three-season history.

After losing two wickets during the powerplay, MI looked unlikely to pass 200 runs in their chase; but thanks to KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran’s 109-run partnership, they managed to reach 214 for 6 in their chase.

However, they were ultimately defeated by 18 runs after an unfortunate run out decision went against them and lost. Rohit Sharma and his teammates will take some comfort in knowing their efforts paid off in the end.

Thushara returns with his bowling and it starts out stingily, giving Naman Dhir a fuller delivery on off stump but he quickly get underneath it before hitting it for six. Dhir has moved into his 60th over 28 balls, well on his way towards another fifty for LSG and will stay bat till the very end.
